Accessibility
ButterySpace should work for every maker, including makers who use a keyboard, a screen reader, or reduced motion. This page says where we are and how to tell us when something falls short.
01Our commitment
We aim for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA across the site and tools, and we treat accessibility issues as bugs, not feature requests. The site is built and run by a small independent studio, so fixes ship the same way everything else does: quickly and in the open.
02What is in place today
- Keyboard support and focus management: dialogs (like the cookie preferences panel) trap focus, close on Escape, and return focus to where you were.
- Visible focus states and labeled controls (ARIA labels on icon buttons and toggles).
- Light and dark themes designed for readable contrast, with your choice remembered.
- Reduced motion: animations respect your operating system's reduce-motion setting.
- Touch targets sized for fingers (44px minimum) and layouts that work on small screens.
03Known limitations
- The 3D preview viewer is visual by nature. The underlying results can always be downloaded and inspected in the tool of your choice.
- Parts of the /convert editor (edge picking, sliders on the model stage) currently rely on pointer interactions. We are working on keyboard equivalents.
04Tell us what's broken
If anything on this site is hard or impossible for you to use, email [email protected] with the subject "Accessibility". Describing what you were trying to do and the assistive technology you use helps us reproduce it. A real person reads every message, and we aim to reply within a couple of business days.
