The buttery maker space

Turn any image into a
3D-printed bookmark.

Drop in line art (a bold outline drawing, a logo, an inked sketch) and get back a slicer ready bundle: a 3MF project file plus a matched single body STL. Clean outlines melt into crisp raised detail you can paint per region in your slicer. Photos work too. Need vectors instead? The same tool traces clean SVGs and checks they'll actually cut on a Cricut or laser before you download.

A bookmark uses two pats. You get five free pats a day, your everyday allowance for finished files, refilled daily with no sign-in required.

Most converters hand you a file and wish you luck.

ButterySpace tells you whether it'll actually work, and fixes it when it won't. That's the whole point.

Geometry check that catches the real traps

Open paths, tiny islands, dimension mismatches, runaway node counts: the common problems that break cutters and lasers. Each issue comes with a severity, and the file gets a confidence-rated score, so we never fake precision.

Warnings in plain English

No jargon. "A connector is too thin to cut," not "kerf threshold violation." Automatable issues get a safe one-click fix; others get clear next steps.

See exactly what changed

Compare your original against the rendered SVG in the split view, and read the per-fix summary: viewBox added, strokes expanded, embedded photos flagged.

Your file stays yours

It's sent to the Buttery engine, inspected, fixed, and handed straight back, and never sold. Files auto-delete within 24 hours, or up to 30 days if you opt in to let us improve our algorithms with them.

Made for the import that actually works

Fix an SVG that won't upload to Cricut

Design Space rejecting your file or importing it at the wrong size? We add the missing canvas, expand strokes into cuttable paths, and strip the hidden photos and effects Cricut can't read.

Make a laser ready SVG for LightBurn or Glowforge

Close open paths, remove double-cuts, and flatten unsupported effects so your laser traces clean lines the first time.

Turn a photo or logo into a cut file

Drop a PNG or JPG and we isolate the subject, trace it into crisp vectors, and score the result for vinyl, paper, or wood.

Check a file before you sell it

Selling SVGs on Etsy? Run them through first so your customers never hit "unsupported file." Your reviews stay five stars.

Questions, answered

Is ButterySpace free to use?

Yes, to start. You get five free pats a day, your everyday allowance for finished files, with no sign-in. A clean SVG, an SVG repair, or an image format conversion uses one pat; the 3D outputs (bookmark, Color Book, rounded STL, lithophane) use two. Pats refill every day.

What can I upload?

For image conversion and bookmarks: PNG, JPG, or WebP up to 20 MB. The format converter also reads iPhone HEIC, plus AVIF, TIFF, and BMP. To check or fix an existing SVG: an SVG up to 2 MB. You get a clean SVG back, plus the bookmark ZIP (3MF + matched single body STL) for bookmark conversions.

Do you store my files?

Only briefly. Your files are sent to the engine, processed, and handed back, and never sold. They auto-delete within 24 hours. If you opt in to product improvement, we keep that session’s files for up to 30 days and use them to improve our algorithms.

Why does a valid SVG still fail in Cricut?

A file can be valid XML and still break a cutter: missing canvas size, stroked outlines, embedded photos, or unsupported effects. ButterySpace checks for exactly those machine-specific traps before you download.

What is a pat?

A pat is one use from your free daily allowance, named after a pat of butter. You get a few every day at no cost, and they are not a purchase. A clean SVG, an SVG repair, or an image format conversion is one pat; the 3D outputs (bookmark, Color Book, rounded STL, lithophane) are two. When they run out you are simply out of butter until they refill.
